Chatting to the Beloved Cast and Crew of Dance Academy at the World Premiere in Sydney.
Glancing back to 2013, I was a production assistant on the NBC television series CAMP, featuring a bunch of the talented cast from Australian series Dance Academy. When I was asked to cover the red carpet of Dance Academy: The Movie, I jumped at the opportunity for a reunion and celebrate the hard work of this team who call themselves family.
The entire cast were lovely, respectful, and enthusiastic to chat with, along with the incredibly talented writer Samantha Strauss and director Jeffrey Walker. I had never realised Dance Academy was based on Sam's life experience of being a dancer, facing an injury and her recovery process. This authenticity shines through this heartwarming tale about discovering what matters most and never giving up.
